WHAT IS THE AMERICAN FLAG PROJECT?
Residents of “The Beaches” (Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach, & Ponte Vedra Beach), as well as Jacksonville residents living in close proximity, receive an American flag, as pictured above, installed in their yard by Oceanside Rotary volunteers for 5 patriotic holidays of the year (Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day – 9/11, and Veteran’s Day). We also remove, store, and maintain the flags.
WHY SHOULD I SUPPORT IT?
When you support this project, you have a positive impact on your community. Funds raised by this project support the charitable efforts of the Oceanside Rotary Club. All funds not used to maintain our Flag supplies support community projects undertaken by Club members or are donated to local, non-profit organizations.
WHAT IS THE COST?
The donation is $50 per year (for the five holidays following your sign-up date).
HOW DOES IT WORK?
An American Flag, similar to those in the picture above, will be placed in your front lawn or flower bed (in a spot of your choosing) a few days before each holiday and will be picked up a few days after the holiday. Between holidays, we store and maintain the flags to ensure they can be displayed proudly at each holiday
CAN I ORDER A FLAG FOR MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY?
Sure can! What a thoughtful gift! We ask that you perform separate transactions for each location so we can easily track and manage the flag delivery process.
